A few more photos of our visitors that entertained us till sun down….
The Braai fire lit.. ready for our meal..(thank the Lord there is something to braai… my son is such an animal lover if the Lion had come passed he might have fed them our steaks.)
AND AS THE SUN SETS ON A PERFECT DAY… I LEAVE YOU TILL TOMORROW…
You are so gifted! Kudos~
Thanks Cindy…
Love these photos and humorous comments! Many thanks for sharing your interesting life with us in this way.
It is my pleasure… thank you..
What an amazing view to enjoy while sitting on the deck and just relaxing. The yellow mongoose is so cute. Hard to remember he’s a wild animal! Kind of you to share the lamb! 🙂
My son (like me) is such an animal lover .. if he had the chance he would probably try to feed the lion… yes that view, like most of our National Park camps is always spectacular… the sites have been so well chosen ..
What a fun set – it’s wonderful when we get to really interact with nature.
It is great fun… I know they say don’t feed the animals.. I want to see someone resist the temptation when these little fellows come and play outside your door…
I remember as a kid with my father in the then Rhodesia at the Wankie Game Park sitting down to breakfast and being swamped by birds and squirrels that tended to just help themselves from your plate… great fun..
I have seen that in parks too – they become so used to humans that they have no fear.
What a diversity of wildlife you have. Amazing too that squirrels manage to be found all over the world.
Is it not amazing that in one form or other they are every where.. I wonder why that is…??
Perfect.
Thank you..
Your comments on the photos are so funny 😀 Great post! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed…
So glad you got things working regarding my blog. These photos are superb as always!!!
Thanks Cee…
You’re so funny …. Love your comments to your photos! Cute animals … and bird – my pick of this lovely bunch must be the springbok one.
Pity we had nothing to offer the springbok… might have got a few close ups of it as well…
Really loving your pics, green with envy. We are going to KNP in March will phone you before we leave. Love to you both
Enjoy.. I will be heading down that way again next month to see the courses down there… program now in Beta testing.. Sandy will be testing for us and wants to purchase… her name will help our sales.. (Sandy from Kloof)
Love the digging one. There’s something about that back paw that makes me want to jump into the photo and cuddle it. Oh dear, it’s official, I’m nuts. 🙂
Don’t worry you’re not alone, so you’re in good company..mine.. the nutters club…
Man, did you make me laugh 😀
So glad I managed that…
Wow, who needs TV right when you have live entertainment like that on your doorstep!
What creature is that taking the lamb?
That is the yellow mongoose… a tenacious animal that seems almost fearless, they are well known for their ability to kill snakes.. so quick, when the snake strikes they are no longer there…
Feeding the animals and birds must have been quite and experience.
Oh it is so special… they seem so fearless of you and have a certain swagger when the come to visit… almost practiced to get into your heart so that you do give them a snack…
Man, I wish I was there myself meeting the many amazing creatures. What an adventure. You are truly living th life most of us only dream about. Great pictures with loads of humor. Have a great weekend.
Funny you should say that.. I look at so many different blogs of places you all visit and think you’re living the life… I think we become a bit accustomed to our own lives and don’t realise how lucky we actually are…
Dangerous looking sharp teeth you visitors had.
Yes they are pretty good at teaching a snake a lesson with those sharp teeth… might have taught my son a lesson…but I do doubt it.. loves animals too much…
Beautiful!!!
Thanks
Enjoyed your excellent pics and commentary. Those little teeth look very sharp indeed. 😯
We didn’t realise just how he had a sniff at Len’s finger before choosing the meat… it could have taught him a lesson to be more careful… but he is such an animal lover it probably would have just been shrugged off as part of natures way…
He sounds like a tough guy with a big heart. 🙂
Love that sunset…..
Thank you.. they are special in this area of the country…
That got me thinking, would the smell of meat grilling attract lions? I know they like their meat rare, but still … just wondering. Bacon frying attracts bears, so maybe lions like their meat grilled too. Looks like a lovely place to camp though.
No Lions will shy away from a fire.. and I’ve never seen them asking for a braai..lol… but I do think if you left cooked meat lying around I’m sure they would appreciate it…
I feel as if I’m there too!
So glad Julie… you as an Aussie would love this place…
My gosh I adore your pictures, that one where he’s digging into the sand and you capture the sand flying – amazing!
Thanks Diana it all happened right below me and was wonderful to watch the antics of such an adaptable little fellow…
I love all of your little critter friends, but I still can’t believe you’re sitting in shorts and no shirt while I have to wear a winter coat and boots. Can I come for a visit pleaseeeeeeeee?? LOL
You can come anytime… with temps around 40 C shirts just make it warmer… but as the sunsets it cools down to a livable 25 odd… who needs a shirt in Africa… wish more woman would think like that…
Oh, aren’t you a naughty boy LOL!! You and my husband would get along famously :).
Fabulous pics, bulldog!
Thank you…
How delightful, Bulldog. That first picture of the squirrel caught my attention; the way it is sitting, with it’s tail up over its back is a pose I never saw on a squirrel before.
They are known for this.. they use it as a sunshade and often lie down with the tail over their backs.. I think their enemies flying above would have difficulties seeing their natural camouflage… they certainly use it a lot in the Kalahari as an umbrella…
Che ospiti deliziosi, sono carinissimi e per finire la giornata un fantastico tramonto mentre vi rilassate!!
Ciao, un salutone
Pat
This is a typical African scene in that area… the sunsets are so special… we can do nothing more than sit and watch it happen….
Just wonderful pictures and captions Bulldog. Thanks for sharing your trip. I feel that I have been on a vicarious holiday! 🙂
I am so glad about that Ruth.. I just wished I could have taken you all along to show you this side of our beautiful country…
What kind of creature is that cute little furry one? I want him! 😀
I assume you’re talking about the squirrels … and not me being fairly hairless… the squirrels are fascinating to watch… as soon as they get a little hot they turn their back to the sun and put up their tail.. or the dig a shallow hole and lie in it…
They’re very cute indeed!
