African Red-eyed Bulbul

African Red-eyed Bulbul (Pycnonotus nigricans)

The African Red-eyed Bulbul or Black-fronted Bulbul is a specie of songbird. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa.  Its natural habitat the dry savannah and subtropical or tropical dry shrub land.

Did this bird give me the run around or what?? All I wanted was a good photo showing the red eye… they would come and sit near by, but always the sun side of me, and as soon as I moved they would fly off… then whilst at Augrabies Falls one was so inquisitive as to what I was up to, it came and sat in front of me.. and that broke the spell… here are a few photos…
