White-breasted Cormorant..

White-breasted Cormorant (Phalacrocorax lucidus)

What can I tell you about this bird.?  Nothing except it appears to be everywhere I go.. how many sub-specie there are, or anything else.. I have no idea.. but they are always there at the waters edge begging to be photographed… So here’s a few photos…

  1. Great photos indeed.I read an article today that the Birds of prey are being systematically exterminated in some places. The Hunters are getting hunted. What could be behind this?

  2. Maybe it fancy you … or stalks you. *smile … just love that rugged last photo. Talk about a bad hair day .. and it looks so soft too. Great job again.

    • Every-time I get in my friends Micro-lite I have that feeling of wanting to step out and fly alongside… I think it is the slower speed of flight and the accompanying almost gliding feel one gets in them… we once flew next to a vulture that was just circling around .. that was when I really wanted to get outside and glide with it… if we get sent back I want to be an eagle .. had enough of being a bulldog…

  3. Wow, what a great looking bird! And those in flight shots are amazing, I know how hard those are to capture!

    Thanks for sharing 🙂

      • I see, I’ve tried capturing sea gulls, they are so erratic! Pigeons are a little easier because they fly in groups and usual in a pattern.

Still, well done, getting a really clear, nice in flight picture is worthy of praise 🙂

  4. Used to get lots of duikers in Knysna. Don’t see them often here, and I wouldn’t know whether they put on a white front. Not a good idea to do that in SA recently, anyway!
