  1. Well done!
But haven’t you taught your son you NEVER have your back to the sea? Many a rock I have seen swept clean of fishermen who weren’t alert enough! Those big rogue waves seem to come out of nowhere.
I wonder why they call the rock that? 🙂

  2. Congratulations!!! I’d make a toast….but it loses something in the virtual world hehe! Wow….500 is very impressive….Definitely a “big splash”!! I only hit 100 last summer lol!! I’m such a slacker and you are awesome….your photos are so far beyond awesome there is no word I’ve learned… yet!! I am very very happy to here for this big moment and to join you to your next 500!!! 🙂

    • Thank you Christina… it did seem to take me so long to reach the first 100, since then they have just seemed to come round on a regular pace without really me noticing it happen… now I’m beginning to feel I must run out of material sooner or later…

  3. Woo Hoo…500! Now, even if you only averaged 5 shots per post, that’s 2,500 pictures posted…at least. These are some amazingly beautiful wave shots! So glad there are people out there like you that have a steady hand and don’t mind sharing their create with the world. It really is one of the simple pleasures to see nature in it’s natural environment…rather than at some museum or zoo.

  4. Congrats, Bulldog! Did you ever dream of writing so many posts when we started?! If I’d been told that number, I’d have felt overwhelmed. Thanks for all your glorious contributions.

    • You are so right .. I thought I might get to 200 odd as I did with my article writing, which I did before the blogging, The 100s seem to have crept up and gone past without really noticing… proof of the fact that “when you’re having fun…..” I have never given much thought as to how many I’ll post, but when I started if someone had said I had to post 500 I probably would have given up before I started…

  5. Congratulations on reaching 500 posts. Although you were well back, I see your son got quite close – I hope his camera is waterproof.

    • His camera is a little less complex than mine and probably far more damp proof… still I wasn’t getting any closer when I’ve got the lens to do it for me…

  6. This is so nice, congratulations dear Rob, I am so glad to know that you are here with us in this amazing blogging world. Thank you, photographs are beautiful too. Thanks and Love, nia

    • Well Nia I can only say thank you to you, you have been with me on every post I’ve posted, from the very beginning, and your reblog of one of my first, got me the followers I have today, some have come and gone, and news ones have joined.. but you have stayed faithful from the beginning… and for that I want to say a big THANK YOU….

      • you are welcome dear Rob, you are same for me too… Million Thanks… A blog can’t stay alive without friends… This is blogger friendship… I feel myself lucky to be in this amazing world. Blessing and Happiness, love, nia

  7. Congrats on the 500th post. That’s a lot of posting. Awesome photos to go with the occasion. Wouldn’t want to get to close to those crashing waves 🙂

      • I made it up. It means, like, your ‘carbon-footprint’, only in reference to how substantial your presence on the internet is. Maybe Internet-footprint is more understandable…, anyway, I meant your 500th post.

        • Thank you Chris… yes to think this all started out as an article on Street Articles and has continued to this… I still get reads on SA and do the odd article that I think might bore people here, I sit now on 141 000 reads over there and am still number 27 odd to think on 224 articles one would get so many reads so long after having posted…

    • Thanks Diana.. I’ll just keep going till I run out of stuff… and that will probably be on my deathbed.. and even that I’ll probably try to share…

  8. Congratulation and great work, Bob ….. the photos here is just amazing how you have captured the big waves – so difficult to get the true power of a wave. Grandson ?????? How old are you … ???? Must have started very young.
    The last photo just priceless.
