But haven’t you taught your son you NEVER have your back to the sea? Many a rock I have seen swept clean of fishermen who weren’t alert enough! Those big rogue waves seem to come out of nowhere.
I wonder why they call the rock that? 🙂
Splash Rock is far more dramatic than what it looks… the splash is a good 15 metre further out as I showed with a photo on this post…

Well that was certainly a big splash with that lot. Did they catch any fish in that tumult?
They did actually… it is a favourite spot for the fisherman.. maybe the fish come close hoping one will fall in and they can catch him for a change…

Woo Hoo…500! Now, even if you only averaged 5 shots per post, that’s 2,500 pictures posted…at least. These are some amazingly beautiful wave shots! So glad there are people out there like you that have a steady hand and don’t mind sharing their create with the world. It really is one of the simple pleasures to see nature in it’s natural environment…rather than at some museum or zoo.
What a nice compliment Mrs. P. so kind of you… Linda and I were talking about it last night and I was actually wondering where I had got all the material from for these posts… then she reminded me that I have over 30 000 photos stored on my hard disk (and backup) …

You are so right .. I thought I might get to 200 odd as I did with my article writing, which I did before the blogging, The 100s seem to have crept up and gone past without really noticing… proof of the fact that “when you’re having fun…..” I have never given much thought as to how many I’ll post, but when I started if someone had said I had to post 500 I probably would have given up before I started…

Congratulations on reaching 500 posts. Although you were well back, I see your son got quite close – I hope his camera is waterproof.
His camera is a little less complex than mine and probably far more damp proof… still I wasn’t getting any closer when I’ve got the lens to do it for me…

It looks a lot closer than what it is so they are safe..but not safe from getting wet…
