Aw, this was an extremely nice post. Spending some time and actual effort to generate a top notch article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and don’t seem to get nearly anything done.|
Thanks the whole bird would have been better which I do have a photo of somewhere this I zoomed in a little more and lost the full legs on purpose… more a good ID photo…
Thanks Ronnie… I tried to rank them on photographic goodness and not allow other things to influence me… No 2 is by far the best looking photo with the birds colour etc… but No 1 still is a better photo …
These are fantastic! I must say that #2 is breathtaking! I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Rainbow colored! 🙂 The KNP is extraordinary. I’m so glad to be introduced to the birds and animals through your love of such an amazing place, Rob. It’s hard for me to imagine!
Thank you so much… it is one of the places if you said to me we’re on our way, you got five minute to pack and be ready.. I’ll still beat you to the car…
Thank you… trying to put a few more together but it is difficult when you return with 50 good photos.. trying to decide which ones I think are the best is dumbfounding…
#10 is intriguing …. #9 stunning tail …. #7 reminds me of Roadrunner …. and as a photo, your top choice is well deserved. You are magically with the camera …. as good with the wedge and putter?
Fabulous! Add another two to make it a top twelve rather than a top ten and you’ve got yourself the makings of a calendar! I particularly like number 4, just because he looks like he’s pacing up and down deep in thought…
The Roller is difficult to ignore being so colourful… but no 1 is close to a perfect shot… I have those type from the poolside, just have trouble ID ing them…
Thanks Diana.. but there are certain highlights that just make one photo better than another… it’s finding all the good points in one that is not easy… but these ten are my favourites…
It was a hard choice between those two.. but the one that I chose as number 1 has just the perfect morning light and he turned just right to capture that light… but it was a tough call… that’s what I’ve been doing all afternoon… decisions, decisions, decisions….

I agree, the last one if magnificent. Such wonderful images! You do have a real gift for wildlife photography! 🙂
Thank you George, such a nice complement…
These are all definitely stunning captures!! Love your photos.
Thank you very much… I have left a comment on your about page and will definitely be looking at your posts when I return to Pta.
A really magnificent top ten, bulldog. I agree with your choice of top of the pops. 🙂
I agree with your No 1 pick – excellent photo. I also enjoyed No 8 as the color of the bottom half of the bird seemed striking against the black.
Thanks the whole bird would have been better which I do have a photo of somewhere this I zoomed in a little more and lost the full legs on purpose… more a good ID photo…
From this collection, I have decided that birds are intense creatures. They look as if they are all holding a major grudge. What’s up with that? 😉
Hunger and not enough co-operating food…
That would do it for me…
Stunning photos! I really like number 7.
I love them all .. just had trouble deciding which was the best…
Oh, these are gorgeous shots for sure Rob. Just beautiful my friend. Thanks for sharing. 😀 *hugs*
Thank you Sonel…
The shape of your favorite is the most interesting, but the color of the bird preceding it gets my vote for color.
Thanks Ronnie… I tried to rank them on photographic goodness and not allow other things to influence me… No 2 is by far the best looking photo with the birds colour etc… but No 1 still is a better photo …
These pictures are really, really gorgeous, Bulldog. You could publish a book or a calender with them.
Thank you.. lovely comment and complement..
They are all very lovely. Thanks for sharing. (Suzanne)
Thank you Suzanne…
You’re right, that last one is the best one.
Thanks Chris.. might not be the best looking bird, but it is the best photo as far as I’m concerned…

Your photos make me want to throw my camera away. Gorgeous!
Don’t do that… maybe I should post my worst ten (if I hadn’t of deleted them all..) luck has a lot to do with it…
I doubt luck has anything to do with it.
This was a delightful post…love them all Bulldog! 🙂
The wedge not too good but boy I can put from far off the green…
That a way … a good addition to a team for a scramble.
They are perfect – each and every one!! You are an amazing wildlife photographer :).
Thank you for such high praise… if it wasn’t fun it wouldn’t happen…
Happy to see another gallery from the Kruger park! You live in the bird heaven! These takes are amazing Bulldog!
Thanks Paula…
These are fantastic!
Thanks Julie
God is so incredibly creative. We all loved the second to last one. So pretty! Thank you for sharing, Bulldog!
Thanks Skye… the top 2 was a difficult decision, I just like No 1 due to a lot of photographic reasons…
So alive! My friend, you captured the beauty and excitement of each subject and its moments. Have a great weekend.
Thank you .. and have a great one as well…
I can see why you chose these beautiful shots, bulldog. Thank you.
Russ
Thanks Russ.
Great top 10 list! (love the rainbow bird)
Thanks Whitelady…
Such iconic images–could be illustrations from “The Thousand And One Nights” or paintings by Audubon!
Wow thanks Chris…
They are all beautiful, just wonderful shots!
Thanks Mrs.P.
Fabulous! Add another two to make it a top twelve rather than a top ten and you’ve got yourself the makings of a calendar! I particularly like number 4, just because he looks like he’s pacing up and down deep in thought…
Thanks Vanessa… could have saved me some time.. got it down to twelve and had to toss two out… why didn’t I think of that…
Difficile fare una scelta, sono tutte bellissime, io le metto tutte al primo posto hihihi
Ciaooo, Pat
Thank you Patrizia… all in first place is a great complement…
I vote for #7 to win with first runner up being #2. And not a single one of them gave you any “beak”! 🙂
Thanks .. oh no they all gave me lip… I just chose to ignore them…
The mixed-flavour ice cream one is particularly striking.
All very good – but none at thje poolside in skimpy bikinis? 🙂
The Roller is difficult to ignore being so colourful… but no 1 is close to a perfect shot… I have those type from the poolside, just have trouble ID ing them…
They are all so beautiful dear Rob, I loved them. Thank you, have a nice weekend, love, nia
Thanks Nia…
All of them worthy of a top ten spot Bulldog. Simply beautiful!
Thanks you … kind complement from one with your talent…..
You’re a very, very kind gentleman Bulldog – thank you very much for the kind compliment!
Awesome birds, I can see why they would catch the imagination of a photographer.
Thanks Alex…
Absolutely stunning and amazing images! You are the pro when it comes to photographing birds!
This is a big complement from a pro photographer such as yourself…
Excellent photos!! – I like them all…I’ve gone through them several times already.
Thanks Brian…
Just beautiful. The birds are unique and colourful, and your photos really do them justice.
Thank you Anneli…
These are all good – amazing the detail of the eyes in some of them. In my books, all your photos are tops!
Thanks Diana.. but there are certain highlights that just make one photo better than another… it’s finding all the good points in one that is not easy… but these ten are my favourites…
Mmmmm…….love them all, but my favorite one, is the one that came second. I love the colors and the way he fluffs his feathers.
It was a hard choice between those two.. but the one that I chose as number 1 has just the perfect morning light and he turned just right to capture that light… but it was a tough call… that’s what I’ve been doing all afternoon… decisions, decisions, decisions….
You have chosen all the birds who have given you `the eye’, well done great photos.
Thank you… they all had something to say…
Magic man and you sure have a gift for getting wonderful shots. I liked the Kivi Kivi.
Thanks Spook…
