  1. Rob, I shared these photos with my facebook friends and they loved them too. It isn’t the best photography lighting yet perfect for catching a glimpse of ‘soul’ in those amazing eyes…these are photos I truly treasure. Thank you for reviewing them for us.

  2. Okay Bulldog..I gotta ask. Do you see these lions from your kitchen window or something? How the hell do you do it? You had me at lion…amazing, really amazing this…

  3. amazing beasts!
I’m not sure why but none of my comments are getting posted on any blogs I’ve been leaving them on. can you check to see if I am in your spam folder and let me know? This started on July 9!

  4. Truly beautiful shots of a most majestic animal. I actually loved the lighting. The first photo is especially magnificent. Thanks, Bulldog.

    • Thanks LuAnn… I’ve had to cancel so many trips this year due to the health issues that I’m running out of lion photos to share… and here we are in the second half of the year and I don’t now have a single trip planned… not a good year for me, never been in hospital in my life and now I seem to be farming there…

      • Sometimes when it rains, it pours. That is exactly how we felt last year with Terry and his parents. There was lots going on for us behind the scenes that I never shared, which is probably true for you as well. Hopefully once you get beyond this it will be smooth sailing Bulldog. I’m praying this is true for you and Linda. Big hugs to you both.

  5. I actually really like the way these photos are lit, Rob. His Majesty just seems to blend right into the dry grass giving such a wonderful example of his camouflage protection. He is really stunning. 🙂

  6. Gorgeous!! Your photos are absolutely stunning sweet friend and I always feel closer to nature when I’ve visited. You do have such an exquisite talent!! I hope your upcoming weekend is a truly blessed one! 🙂 ~

    • Thank you… I certainly loved the photo shoot… in the end he got tired of it stood and walked to where we could no longer see him… i’m sure though he would still have been able to see us…

  7. oh wow Rob they are fantastic! I say it again and again you are so lucky to get access to all these majestic animals but even so your photography is fantastic and I’m so glad you have your blog to share these wonderful images with us.

  8. These are most favorite of your photos, it is so cool that you were able to take them, the only way I have seen a lion alive is at the great inclosure in Wild Animal Park the is nearby, The San Diego Zoo’s breeding facility.

    • Thanks Russ… two Rhino entered his space and started to eat near by… I think he was assessing their danger to him… obviously they showed no concern and he settled again, till he tired of our photo shoot and moved off deeper into the bush where he could see us, but we could not see him…
