Happy Birthday from WordPress… 3rd..

As I’ve just posted on the difficulty of keeping up I receive notice from WordPress of a 3rd anniversary..

Stats show that 3 years seems to be the norm for most before they tend to fade half into the background… is this to happen to me?

I love the blogging experience and the friends I’ve made all over the world, as well as the fact that Google tends to keep some of my posts high on the first page search and this gets me reads from many sources… Busman’s Hole and Sishen Railway line being two of the most popular….

My new camera will soon bring me back with a vengeance as next month we are going for a visit to the Kgalagadi Gemsbok Park where last year I took nearly 3000 photos with my old camera… my new one is likely to take more as it has that extra bit for the photos that last time were not good enough to share.

I mean look at this zoom…. see the island boxed? Do you think there is anything on it?

Well here is actually what is there…. and this is just the zoom without any crop….

I love this camera……

Have a good day…..

Blogging…. Can become a chore…

I’m finding it more and more difficult to get to the blogs I follow… Hell .. I’ve even lost the enthusiasm to post myself … but every time I get this way something comes up that I feel I have to share…

I’ve noticed many of the blogs I followed 3 years ago are now gone, no posts made in 24 plus months and I wonder why…. Did they bore of the experience, or did circumstances just make it impossible to post?

I’m not bored, but I have lost a little of the initial enthusiasm… Maybe I need to grow back into my skin…

Certain circumstances at this time make it difficult to get out with the camera… 1. it is hot, no it is damn hot.. 2. commitments also seem to be getting in the way, although these I’m not complaining about. I love helping out my son and his wife…. 3. it is so damn hot.. have I said that before? Maybe I just need to get out and sniff around for something that is not hiding from the sun..

I might take a while to look at your blogs these days and only comment a day or two late, but I am watching what you post. I might only hit the like button, but I’m there I promise…

I’ve noticed even today that a lot of you are not posting as often as you used to, why is that? Lots of you still comment on my posts and I love that fact, so for that reason I will continue to run toward your blogs and comment as often as circumstances permit…

But don’t some of you want to share some of this heat? I’m sure those of you that live in the Northern Hemisphere could do with a day of sunshine and heat. I hate the cold, but look with longing at some posts of snow everywhere and wish we had it just for a day or two…

Which is it? A Cape or Orange River white–eye.

My recent visit to Upington gave me these captures, but according to the books I have, I can not make out if this is a Cape or Orange River White-eye… so any experts that wish to help please jump right on in and add your opinions…

As for yesterdays post… no one seems to have the answer to instant riches, so I’ll continue on my happy pathway I’m presently on. I refuse to kiss the backend of a Bank Manager ever again, (15 years ago was the last time) so if the money is not available out of my pocket, a dream remains a dream… but then are dreams not that which keep us alive…????

I learnt of a childhood friend whose husband had passed, in his 60’s where I am… and one ponders if you knew when, would you do things differently? Not sure I would, except borrow all I could from the Bank manager… that would give him a headache trying to recover it after I’m gone… and that would give me my last laugh in this world….

Anyway I captured these photos on my last visit to Upington and I’m not sure of its ID… enjoy and feel free to comment if you can help with the ID…

Taken early morning in the Kalahari, isn’t the blue of the sky not divine? No smog, just beautiful clean air…
