We recently had a drone flying and taking photos for our course signage… and this is one of the overhead photos I received…
and the back of the score card gives a more clearer idea of the layout…
And here is a photo showing an old farm house that the owner is converting into the golf clubhouse as well as conference venue, wedding venue etc…
This conversion will mean the 3rd hole will become the 1st and so on… I love this idea as one will start off with a par 5 and finish the 18th with a par 5..
Here’s a photo of the old house, so old one could almost call it historic…
We are to develope a driving range near the clubhouse, with a jungle gym to keep the kids entertained, this is going to be a special place in the future. Braai facilities and a boma (an area to have a larger fire for people to congregate around for warmth and companionship, an old African custom) will make this a special place for golf days, or conferences.
I look forward to the completion of the facilities as we have many sponsored golf days in early next summer. Also a fun Golf day for Fathers day on the 18th of June.
You definitely had a beautiful piece of land to develop. Which is the signature hole?
It is a great setting… the 9th would have to be the one… a short par 3 with the lodges and restaurant in the back ground
Encounters with rhinos would have enhanced the 9th.
Not sure they’d be good for tge greens… lol
That’s understandable … life been well?
Yep Frank… been living the dream and now enjoying the fruit
That a way … I know you worked hard on this project – so don’t forget to treat yourself to a break!

Thanks Dianne… ii often sit o top of the hill where I can view a lot of the course… and there I ask mgself “did you do that?” Sometimes I have trouble believing it…

Drones are certainly handy little things for planning like that!
They are in the hands of those that can operate them… this youngster was good..
