Is it possible that an Elephant can have two trunks or only one?… these photos made me think it possible to have two. How they control the one is difficult enough to understand, but two?
Have you heard this one;
There’s an elephant and a camel, the elephant asked the camel “why do you have your boobs on your back?” the camel says “that’s funny coming from a guy that has his dick on his face”
Every nation has a book about the Elephant: The French book – The Sex Life of the Elephant or: 1000 ways to cook Elephant The English book – Elephants I have shot on Safari The Welsh book – The Elephant and its influence on Welsh language and culture or: Oes ysgol tocynnau eleffant llanfairpwll nhadau coeden. The American book – How to Make Bigger And Better Elephants The Japanese book – How to Make Smaller And Cheaper Elephants The Greek book – How to Sell Elephants for a Lot of Money The Finnish book – What Do Elephants Think about Finnish People The German book – A Short Introduction to Elephants, Vol 1-6. The Icelandic book – Defrosting an Elephant The Swiss book – Switzerland: The Country Through Which Hannibal Went With His Elephants The Canadian book – Elephants: A Federal or Provincial Issue? The Swedish book – How to reduce your taxes with an elephant. The Australian book – What’s an Elephant?
A years worth of these pictures would not be a bad thing. Such wonderful animals. I’d love to see them up close. An experience never forgotten Id imagine.
You are so right they lend themselves to good photos as well as one of the most interesting mammals on earth
Leave it to the English…Elephants I Have Shot on Safari. Great photos Bulldog, particularly that third one. 🙂
Thanks LuAnn… I don’t think the English would come back to shoot an elephant now… he’d suffer badly…
Love these shots!! We are big fans of elephants here!! Thanks, Bulldog!!
Glad to hear that I’ve got so many elephant photos, could blog for a year just with elephant photos…
This was really funny! I couldn’t possibly get the perspective until the one shot from above. I began to wonder what it was I didn’t really know about an elephant’s anatomy. I was reading a book recently about a couple of very wealthy early 20th century land owners from California and it was mentioned that they would recreate in Africa hunting elephants. I felt so upset to think of that, although I know it is still a concern today. They are just such really wonderful animals. I am so glad you share photos of them.
Thank you… they are one of those animals that I feel has a very high intelligence… they can communicate with sounds that the human ear cannot hear, and a command from their Matriarch is obeyed instantly…
I witness a huge Bull wanting to pair with a female I though was too young just from her size, she started to scream and run for her life, the Matriarch charge in and chased that bull away from the herd… she even has power over the huge Bulls that only join the herd when in Musk… They are absolutely fascinating to just sit and watch their patience with their young is similar to the human… they take so much and then the admonishment is dealt out with a look and communication of sorts, the young obeys immediately… wonderful animals…
Brilliant! I love the Australian book 😀
Thanks Dianne… wanted to put “does it play rugby?” but thought that might be lost on some… can you imagine an Elephant in the Springbok team??
We need a few elephants in the forward pack of the Wallabies 😀
specially against our Ox…
Thanks so much for a really great laugh today, bulldog. Brilliant post! 🙂
Thanks AD… glad you enjoyed…
Priceless …. Love it. Your gallery are also priceless – amazing photos of this magnificent animal.
Thank you Viveka… kind of you to say…
Rob, my pleasure.
I love this, not only do I adore elephants (and the two-trunks shot very clever!) but the jokes had me laughing-out-loud. Great post Bulldog, thanks so much for making me not only smile but laugh this Monday afternoon 🙂
My pleasure Sherri… I have 100s of photos of Ellies… tend to sit and watch them in the Parks…
Enjoyed your photos and your jokes as ever Rob. Elephants appear to have more human traits than most animals. It must be fascinating to see them close up, and to study them through the lens in their natural environment.
I have spent hours just sitting and watching these animals… their intelligence and communication is phenomenal…
LOL! Thanks for the laugh again. 😀
Elephants are such majestic and beautiful animals Rob and you’ve captured them so well! Thanks for sharing. 😀
Thanks Sonel…
Elephants are such amazing creatures, it always amazes me that anyone could kill one…Great photos.
I agree so with you on that… such gentle giants unless you piss them off, and then it’s your fault for being stupid…
I adore Elephants, family animal, show feelings, remember loved ones who passed on, etc. Plus they are so grand.
Thanks Genie they are very special animals…
loved the ‘books of many nations’….
Thanks Chris..
The elephant is my favorite animal to watch and view in art and photos. Give me an elephant documentary and I’m there. Lovely photos.

Glad you didn’t choke… thanks Mrs P for always having a comment…
Great funny post, love all these book titles. My friend loves elephants and we were only talking about those great creatures yesterday! Love the joke too 🙂
Thanks Ute… they are the gentle giants of Africa, till you piss them off…
I wouldn’t have the slightest clue (in regard to your last comment).
Thanks Vicki… couldn’t think of anything for the Aussies… wanted to say “Do they play Rugby?” but half of my followers wouldn’t know what that meant…
Hahaha – good one Bulldog!! I loveeeee elephants :).
Glad you enjoyed… thank you…
Funny and beautiful… I love elephants, they are special creature. Thank you dear Rob, love, nia
Thanks Nia…
Love the jokes and how those pseudo book titles reflect those countries so well! A little heads up though, Canada has provinces not states. 😉
Glad you enjoyed… and gone and corrected the Canadian book…
🙂 ! Do you have states there, or is all countries?
Provinces…
hahaha I suck! Oh how typical of me to point out an error and not do a quick google search before commiting the same error!
Peace to you!
Not to worry Diana, most people think of South Africa as being the southern side of Africa and not seeing us as an independent country… when I was in NYC I had a person ask me about the problems in Malawi, I told him I had no idea about them, he asked if it wasn’t a province of SA…
That third photo is really funny 😀 Grand and majestic creatures.
Thanks Marion
